Understanding is a wellspring of life...
LAUREN VAN EWYK,
I have been working in the private and public mental health field since 2013. I specialize in childhood trauma, attachment and anxiety, as well marriage counselling and individual therapy.
Life is full of rough spots, and points of beauty in our journey. Allow me to help you get through the tough spots so you can enjoy the beauty!
Support That Makes a Difference
A collaborative, strengths-based approach is used to assist individuals and families in meeting their goals. Despite the difficulty the family or individual is experiencing, a strengths based approach encourages empowerment through the resolution process.
Therapeutic styles include:
Attachment Based Therapy
Faith (Christian) Informed Practice
Anxiety is the number one mental health concern we see in children. Lauren has extensive successful experience working with children who experience anxiety. From a strengths based approach we can identify the emotions and "triggers" related to the anxiety and help children develop resources to ensure they are able to overcome the barriers they experience.
Most insurance companies cover social work expenses if extended health benefits are offered through your program.
If you have an active Farm Business Registration Number, you qualify for a fee reduction.
As of September 26th, 2012, counselling services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSW) can be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax return. In other words, RSW’s are now authorized as “medical practitioners” for the purpose of claiming medical expenses.
